About Decantress Wine Diary
Welcome to Decantress Wine Diary, by Gianna Gaudini, a certified sommelier, writer, event planner, marketer and wine consultant in San Francisco. Gianna has always been passionate about magical Northern California Napa and Sonoma wine country and sharing her love of this special place with others. It was over a discussion about the best wineries in Napa at a wine bar in San Francisco that Gianna met her husband (and future mother in law) who later proposed to her in Napa. Gianna was also married in Napa and frequently visits her family who live in Yountville where they love to explore new wineries and restaurants together. Gianna has always had a passion for connecting and developing unique experiences for people (which also influenced her career choice of working on the marketing event team at Google). Gianna created Decantress Wine Diary as a portal to share all of her favorite wineries and wine related information - searchable by category, such as “romantic wineries” or “good for groups” with people as the volume of requests for this information scaled. You will find that many of the reviews on Decantress are highly positive and this is because the site includes only wineries that Gianna genuinely endorses and wishes to share with others.
Biography
Gianna Cardinale Gaudini works for Google, Inc. on the Marketing Events team where she focuses on B2B event conception and strategy, operational management and creative marketing. Outside of planning and executing high level events at Google, Gianna's passion is wine with a particular love for Napa Valley Wine Country. Growing up in Los Gatos, CA, she gained an early appreciation for food and wine observing her parents farm their vineyard and organic garden. Seeking to further her knowledge of wine, Gianna studied at the San Francisco Wine Center and received her Court Master Sommelier certification in October, 2010. Gianna writes as resident sommelier for Wine Country Wedding Magazine and is the sommelier and wine list designer for Noir Lounge San Francisco. Gianna pursues her oenophile research through weekend expeditions to Napa Valley (which is actually an excuse to drink really great wine and eat really great food).
